The Up & Down Tour into the Augvergne and back will test your climbing legs no doubt! This is a 6 night, 5 ride day tour covering 600km and around 10,000m of altitude gain! It sounds tougher than it really is. I think! Anyway, pace is always the order of the day on this type of trip and I can promise you this.......very quiet roads for the vast majority of the tour, plenty of good food and super support!
Day one takes us due south to Treignac. We'll cover 125km and climb a total of 2100m. So, make sure you have the right gearing to allow for the muscle fatigue that builds up in the thighs!
The roads will be very quiet as we pass thru sleepy hamlets and villages.
Our stopover is well known in the area and promises a good meal and a good rest!
COST: The fee for this tour is 850 euros (or around £735 as I write) and for that you get the following:

* 6 breakfasts
* 6 three course evening meals (2 of these with wine)
* Airport transfers from/to Limoges airport
* Client fridge...help yourself to ANY drinks (soft, wine, beers) whilst at base

Le Falgoux is way up in the hills and that is where we end up this evening. Another good 'in-house' restaurant means we can relax after this epic day. 146km and a huge 3000m of alt' gain. That equates to 2% for every km we ride!
I havce been to Le Falgoux many times but never for an overnight stop.
Tucked away up a very long and gentle climb (only around a 3% grade) this village is cycling paradise for me.
My favourite village in France is the target today. Rocamadour. 120km and 1600m of alt' gain should mean you finish the day with time to meander into the heart of this very pictoresque village. And booming with history too!
I reckon we can take our time today AND be done by 3pm. Tomorrow is a BEAST of a day so you'll need the time to recover.
The on-site eaterie means we don't have to concern ourselves with going out to get our dinner.
DAY DESTINATION DIST ALT+m
One Treignac 125km 2100
Two Rocamadour 120km 1600
Three Le Falgoux 146km 3000
Four Eymoutiers 142km 2400
Five Chez Nous 85km 1300
Totals 618km 10,400m
Another tough day in the saddle beckons as we head north to Eymoutiers. This really is rural France or as the French call it....''France Profond''. Deepest France.
Buckle up for another 142km and 2400m of climbing.
This imposing property plays host to us tonight.
Day 5 is deliberately left short at 85km to ensure we get back to base early afternoon so you have time to pack bikes and rest up before the journey home. There is still a generous 1300m to climb which makes for around 1.5% for each and every km travelled!
Tonight you deserve to sit back and drink a cold beer, a glass of wine or a soft drink as I prep' a hearty dinner that we can take 'al fresco' if the weather permits.
NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE
* Flights or any other form of travel to get you here or home again except shuttle
* Bike hire
* Beverages for the 4 evenings we are away from base
